We travelled via the Shuttle, were mega impressed at the coach driver’s skill as he drove onto the very narrow carriage with centimetres to spare. What skill! On arrival in Boulogne, we visited the ancient fortress town and ate our picnic on the grass inside the ramparts; we managed a few French words when buying berets from the souvenir shop and then walked along the sea front, past the fish market to Nausicca the sea life museum. Wow! Year 7 were speechless by what they saw. From Nausicca we took the coach to the hypermarket and bought some French produce. Everyone was on their best behaviour and we joined our coach for the long journey to Sheringham with a quick stop for a bite to eat – guess what we chose? Yes, McDonald’s – nothing like a typical English meal when you’ve been away from home! On the way home some slept but some didn’t! We got back to Sheringham in the rain safe and sound at 11.15. What a day! It was great. Well done Year 7 and well done teachers for surviving the annual marathon trip to Boulogne!
