REINFORCING HIGH STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOUR DURING LESSONS

Dear Parent/ Carer,

As you know and have come to expect from a very good school such as ours, we insist that our students behave very well during lessons in order for teachers to be able to do their job effectively and to deliver outstanding lessons.

Our behaviour tracking systems show that the vast majority of our students behave incredibly well in lessons and we have very few incidents of off-task behaviour.  However, we want to be sure that every individual student, teacher and parent is fully aware of his or her responsibility to maintain the high standards that we expect. In order to reinforce these expectations we will be revisiting our behaviour policy with students this term. I will deliver assemblies to students in the first few days of the term and talk through our expectations with them.

We know they will respond very well and will be pleased that we intend to continue to deal firmly with the few students who find it difficult to manage their behaviour in some situations.

We will of course, do our best to keep you informed if your child’s conduct gives us cause for concern and hope that you will support us to maintain the excellent behaviour standards within our school by reinforcing the school’s behaviour policy with your child.

We are very proud of the positive ethos within our school and the excellent relationships between staff and students, and amongst the students themselves.

I’d like to thank you for your continued support and look forward to working with you in 2018.

Yours sincerely,

Jayne Melhuish
